Happy Holidays 2024!
Winter 2024 Newsletter

a time to double our efforts in taking care of one another

As 2024 is drawing to an end, we feel incredibly thankful to have rewarding work, supportive clients, and positive professional experiences here at building Lab. Throughout the year, bLers have engaged in meaningful activities such as volunteering at the Alameda County Community Food Bank and collaborating with NARI SF Bay Chapter in supporting the US Marine Corp Reserve’s Toys for Tots Program. We have also expanded our relationship with Covenant House California-Oakland:

"from crisis to care: a journey of youth homelessness"

"What happens when a young person enters our doors? We welcome them with open arms and meet their immediate needs—a hot meal, emergency medical care, and a safe place to sleep. But we're much more than a shelter. Our programs provide the stability and support that young people need to transform their lives and put themselves on a path to independence."

Once again for our holiday newsletter, we are presenting some inspiring pieces from the youth art classes at CHC-Oakland.

2024 volunteer project at CHC-Oakland

In April this year, the bL team continued to expand our work to renovate a group of resident bedrooms to offer better functionality and a sense of joy in the interiors. bL staff members, fellow designers of Wit Interiors and our trade associates (Amber Flooring, Matson Construction Management) completed this project with care and efficiency. Together with the renovated Right of Passage Lounge (completed in 2021), this group of upgraded bedrooms in the vicinity are nicknamed The building Lab Wing!

sleep out - a global movement to end youth homelessness

Sleep Out is more than just a night without a bed. At Sleep Out, Covenant House residents share about their journeys through homelessness, experts empower us to advocate for an end to youth homelessness, and Sleepers connect with each other in meaningful ways. We strongly support this annual event and would like to encourage our friends and associates to take an interest in this worthwhile endeavor.

best wishes for a new year filled with joy and happiness!
